10 gin cocktail recipes to try this summer!
Summer is creeping up on us, we’ve been blessed with some lovely weather over the last few weeks. Sadly, many of our summer events have been postponed this year, so we’re bringing you the opportunity to create your own pub garden at home with our ‘easy to make at home’ cocktails. They’re perfect for this British lockdown to keep the spirits up!

We’re loving this Pink Gin from Bottomley Distillers (42% ABV) now the sun is out. It’s made from an infusion of strawberries and their traditional London Dry recipe. We’ve paired ours with a traditional lemonade so it’s not too sweet, but instead very refreshing!Ingredients
- 50ml Premium Pink Gin
- 150ml Heartsease Lemonade
- Strawberry and The Zest Co lemon to garnish
Method
- Fill your glass with ice
- Pour in your gin and top up with lemonade
- Garnish with sliced strawberry & lemon

Floradora
Chalgrove Artisan Distillery have produced OX44 Gin. This isn’t just any old gin, this is an extremely smooth, multi-award winning gin (in fact they have just won a double gold medal!). Containing botanicals including kaffir lime leaves, coriander and cardamom.
Ingredients
- 50ml OX44 Gin
- 25ml lime juice
- 25ml Chambord
- Double Dutch Ginger Beer to top up
- Lime to garnish
Method
- Add the gin, Chambord and lime to an ice-filled highball
- Stir for a few seconds to blend
- Top up with ginger beer
- Squeeze a segment of lime then drop it in the glass

lemon sherbet gin fizz
This gin comes from a micro-distillery in Herefordshire who grow most of their own herbs and botanicals, including lemon thyme, rosemary and lemon verbena. Haven Distillery have produced a citrus forward gin which is lovely on its own as a refreshing G&T or sweeten it up in a combination of cocktails!Ingredients
- 50ml Lemon Verbena Gin
- 15ml Sugar Syrup
- Prosecco
- Caster Sugar
- Lemon
Method
- Dip your flute rim into a combination of caster sugar and lemon juice
- Add gin, sugar syrup and ice to your cocktail shaker and shake to mix
- Fill your flute with Prosecco
- Strain the gin and syrup mix into your Prosecco, making sure there is no ice
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel
BOATHOUSE PUNCH
Trudi may be a little biased on this one, it’s her most local distillery in Cambridgeshire and we’ve been working with Roundwood Distillery since the day they launched! Their London Dry Gin (42% ABV) includes botanicals such as; citrus peel, elderflowers and elderberries.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 225ml Roundwood London Dry Gin
- 2tbsp sugar
- 1 lemon
- 150ml Aperol
- 225ml lemon juice
- 225ml Folkington’s Orange Juice
- 225ml grapefruit juice
- 150ml Prosecco
- Orange wheel to garnish
Method
- In a large pitcher, muddle the lemon peel and sugar
- Let stand for at least 30 minutes
- Add the remaining ingredients, fill with ice and stir
- Garnish with orange wheels
TIP: If you don’t like tonic with your gin, why not try your favourite tipple with an alternate mixer, like a fruit juice? We can highly recommend the Orange & Apple from the team at Folkington’s!



old tom & T
A slightly sweeter gin from Gorilla Spirits Co as you’d expect from an Old Tom, perfect for those who don’t enjoy a dry G&T but prefer tonic as a mixer! Botanicals include coriander seed, sweet orange and lemongrass. Did you know that £1 from every bottle sold is donated to ‘The Gorilla Organization‘? So go get yourself one, here!
Ingredients
- 50ml Silverback Old Tom Gin
- 200ml Double Dutch Skinny Tonic Water (using a light tonic makes the flavours in the gin sing!)
- The Zest Co. Orange slice to garnish
Method
- Add the gin to your Copa Glass filled with plenty of ice
- Top up with your tonic water
- Add a slice of orange to garnish
RHUBARB & GINGER
The Orkney Gin Company is a small, family run distillery, founded back in 2016. In addition to rhubarb in this delightful bottle, you will also find locally grown rose petals, Seville orange peel cloves and cinnamon. This gin is lightly sweetened to the Old Tom style but still slightly tart. Extremely refreshing and compliments the pink ginger mixer.
Ingredients
- 50ml Orkney Rhubarb Old Tom
- Fentimans Pink Ginger
- Lime to garnish
Method
- Fill your martini glass with crushed ice to chill the glass
- Once chilled, remove the ice and pour in your gin
- Top up with pink ginger
- Lime wheel to garnish
Trudi’s favourite cocktail!


apple & pear
This beautifully designed bottle is just as wonderful as it tastes, Joules Apple & Pear Gin (40% ABV) is super versatile. The collaboration between friends and neighbours Warners x Joules, to celebrate their 30th anniversary! Inspired by country walks, the botanicals include apple, pear, locally grown elderflower and black pepper. It’s definitely one to try!Ingredients
- 50ml Warner’s Apple & Pear Gin
- 15ml elderflower cordial
- 15ml lime juice
- Folkington’s Cloudy Apple Juice
- Cucumber & edible flowers to garnish
Method
- Stir all the ingredients except the garnishes in a Copa glass with plenty of ice
- Garnish with peeled cucumber, and edible flowers if you have them
taste of sussex & tonic
Generation 11 Sussex Dry Gin (43% ABV) has a great story behind the brand which we LOVED reading about! 11 generations ago, a distant cousin to the owner of Generation 11 married William of Orange who bought Jenever over from Holland to England! This bottle is packed with 8 botanicals in total, including coriander seed, lavender and lemon peel. Delightful as a G&T, with fresh citrus flavours and subtle lavender notes.
Ingredients
- 50ml Generation 11 Dry Gin
- Double Dutch Indian Tonic Water
- Lemon slice & lavender to garnish
Method
- Add the gin to your Copa Glass filled with plenty of ice
- Top up with your tonic water
- Add a slice of lemon & lavender to garnish


elderflower & raspberry
The Sweet Potato Spirit Company have produced a delicious Gin Liqueur (25% ABV) which is made with the finest home-grown English raspberries and of course… sweet potatoes! The sharpness from the raspberries with the sweetness from the presse make this a winning drink for those who aren’t keen on the dryness of a G&T (this goes down VERY easily)!Ingredients
- 50ml Sweet Potato Raspberry Gin Liqueur
- 25ml fresh lemon juice
- Heartsease Elderflower Presse
- 8 raspberries
Method
- Add the gin, lemon juice and 5 raspberries, muddle well and top glass with ice
- Top with elderflower presse and garnish with your remaining raspberries
orange o'clock
Slingsby Marmalade Gin (40% ABV) is distilled using natural spring water from the world famous Harrogate aquifer. It’s made from zesty Yorkshire marmalade and botanicals such as; primrose, sweet cicely and rosehip. This cocktail is super refreshing and zesty!Ingredients
- 50ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
- 25ml fresh lemon juice
- 10ml sugar syrup
- 50ml Folkington’s Orange Juice
- Double Dutch Soda Water
- Orange and lemon slices to garnish
Method
- Build ingredients into a tall glass filled with ice and stir
- Serve and enjoy with a straw!
