This week’s #TonicTuesday features The London Essence Company’s Pomelo & Pink Pepper flavoured Tonic Water.

About the Brand;

The London Essence Company was originally established back in 1896 and build a reputation through the early twentieth century for distilling the true flavour of fine fruits and botanicals. Using distillation rather than extraction, it created, delicate and exquisite essences for the capital’s perfume, confectionary and drinks industries.

In 2016 the London Essence archives were discovered gathering dust and the company was refreshed with the aim of reviving their delicately precise methods and reinvigorating today’s expanding drinks universe. The result is a light and balanced range of finely crafted mixers, carefully calibrated to accentuate today’s premium spirits, all inspired by the craft and inventiveness of the original firm.

Enhancing gin, as well as a variety of spirits, aperitifs and fortified wines. The Collection grants you unlimited opportunities to experiment and explore flavour when mixing with Franklin & Sons.

About the Tonic;

Hibiscus is a mad ingredient because it can’t quite decide what it wants to be. All at once oily, fruity and floral, the flower provides a rich, bold sweetness and a beautiful hue that will answer to all of your pink gin fantasies. Still, it’s no folly; the rhubarb provides a tart backdrop, ensuring that the tonic remains complex and interesting. Try with a classic gin and a juniper garnish to see just how brilliant this can be.

The finest Rhubarb provides abundant ‘fresh-cut’ tartness and the introduction of Hibiscus flower, brings sophistication. Influenced by Chefs who chose to poach Rhubarb in Hibiscus flowers to bring out sweetness and tart notes.

Suggested Gin Pairings;

Thank you The London Essence Company!
